4 Apps That Offer Cash for Steps

You can’t get rich from taking steps, but if you’re doing it anyway, might as well make a few extra bucks along the way. I’ve tried quite a few apps, but the majority just offer points towards prizes (or just don’t work in general). Personally I prefer getting cash, so here are my favorite 4 apps that exchange cash for your steps.

1. StepBet

If you’re motivated by money, StepBet is for you. You bet $40 that you’ll meet your step goal for 6 weeks. The amount of steps you have to reach is calculated by the average on your fitness tracker. At the least you’ll get your $40 back if you meet your goal, but there is the potential to get more. Fitness wise I find this app gets me moving the most. There have been many a night where I’m running circles in my living room trying to hit my step goal minutes before midnight. The potential of losing $40 is incredibly motivating.

2. Achievement

Achievement is nice because you literally don’t need to do anything. It syncs to your fitness tracker. It updates itself. It gives you points for walking, eating, drinking, & even sleeping. Once you get 10,000 points, it rewards you with $10. It takes quite a long time to rack up that many points, but since it has no risks & takes no effort, there’s really nothing to lose by downloading it.

3. Walgreens

Download the Walgreens app & sign up for their rewards program to get points for steps, tracking your weight, checking your blood pressure & so much more. 5,000 points earns you $5 which you can spend on almost anything in the store. All you have to do is connect your fitness tracker, & the app will update itself.

4. Dick’s Sporting Goods

Dick’s has a similar program as Walgreens. You just need to sign up for their free rewards program and link your fitness tracker. You get 3 points for every day you meet your step goal and 300 points gives you a $10 reward.

If you’re in the market for a fitness tracker, I have the FitBit Charge HR 2. It tracks steps, stairs, sleep, calories, & heart rate. Definitely my favorite that I’ve tried so far.
