my weight loss beginning.

I’ve always wondered how people get fat. How do they let it get so out of hand? As soon as I gain a few extra pounds or have to up my jean size; I handle it right there. It’s so much easier to just get ahold of it at the beginning.

Then, it happened to me.

Since beginning college I have put on about 50 lbs. I obviously realized my clothes weren’t fitting & felt some extra squish everywhere, but 50 lbs??

Thinking back now, I don’t know how I was so oblivious. When I was a freshman in college, I ate a vegetarian diet & never ate out. I didn’t drink alcohol. I ran 20 miles a week, lifted weights 5 days a week, not to mention I walked everywhere since I didn’t have a car.

Now, I rarely go to the gym & can’t even run a mile. I eat a higher intake of animal products & eat out for the majority of my meals. I drink way too much alcohol. I honestly don’t know how my health got so out of hand…but I think that’s how most people feel. One day you just wake up like shit…what the fuck happened?

Anyways this will be Day 1 of actually taking care of myself & not taking my body for granted. I’ll keep some monthly updates posted to hold myself accountable & connect with others as i try to get healthy(ish).

  • Run – 2 miles straight; under a 10 minute mile
  • Lift – Squat 200 lbs; Bench 95 lbs
  • Eat – Eat out less than 1x/week, focus on eating a plant based diet
  • Move – Hit 10k steps daily
  • Consistency – Workout 5 days a week
